Speaking of Shadow of the Colossus, this is the illustration I did for the Metagame for it.
Can I talk a little bit about this game? I played it probably 3 or 4 years ago without knowing anything about it and it completely affected me in a gut emotional way in the way that a really good book or song can. I remember very clearly finding the first colossus, just thinking to myself “oh my god, no way I can kill that” and just running away and exploring the beautiful empty landscape for hours.
Things that are great about this game (that’s all been said before, but whatever): the visual designers aren’t afraid of silhouette. The animations are out of control gorgeous and add to the gameplay by making you feel vulnerable, and not that horrible stiff mannequin walk you usually see. That there’s nothing but birds and lizards (and that 1 deer). That you want to explore because it’s beautiful, not because you get “stuff” for doing so. That someone added the interaction to pat Argo, but it doesn’t affect the gameplay in any way. Navigation by sunlight. That they leave everything ambigous. The soundtrack! 
If you haven’t played it for whatever reason, don’t look up anything about it at all, just go play it.
